ESPN is now running an on-line feature about Mike Mitchell. Wasn't this the guy their experts said was a nobody. They give Al down the road about selecting him. Now they feature an article on him. This is just another attempt at exploiting the Raider fans to increase their viewership. They know we will research our players, team, and draft picks, so they feature them on their site. Then they bash them with their biased reporters, see Tom Jackson. Yeah, I do drink the kool-aid that Al has been serving. But I get tired of the media bashing the Raiders and then sucking up to the Nation to increase viewership. I do believe Mitchell is one of the most grounded guys we've drafted in a while and I hope he works out. No mention on his love of fashion! This guy says he actually wants to be a Raider!

Good Read. I think this kid may actually give Raiders a desperately needed play maker at safety.

I really can't understand why Mitchell was off the charts as far as being invited to the combines, he was not even listed on any kind of draft magazines just find it so strange cuz he seems to have real talent, he look like a Sean Taylor to me. I really hope he proves him self and gets some revenge to all the nay sayers

How does this make ESPN hypocritical? The views and opinions expressed by their analysts do not reflect the views of the network.

In my opinion, the opinions and view do represent the network. That may sound a little twisted. However, I consider it the same as some of the news networks whose reporters and commentary are consistently biased. They pay the reporters and program their shows. I did not like the way the analysts and commentators blasted the pick of DHB before they cut to his living room, and then acted like they thought he was a swell fella when they started talking to him.

They didn't act like anything. Suzy Kolber, the host of ESPNNEWS' draft coverage, conducted the interview. They ripped the PICK, not the KID. In order to rip the pick, you have to explain why it's a bad pick. In order to do that, you have to knock the player. That's just how it is. If it was another team you wouldn't be whining about it.

I feel they are hypocritical in that they killed Al for taking DHB, yet said relatively little about the Bengals taking Smith out of Alabama. Smith had a terrible combine, in fact leaving at one point, while DHB had a fairly productive combine. Cincy has had plenty of draft day mistakes, just as the Raiders have, yet they do not pile on the way they do with the Raiders. Only time will tell who becomes the better player.

This is why the combine is a fuckin joke. Andre Smith was hands down the best OL in the country and possible 1st overall pick, but he has a bad weekend at the combine and now he's a stiff? Meanwhile DHB is probably a 2nd round pick, then he runs a great 40 time and he's the 7th overall pick? Stupid, stupid logic.

And people aren't piling on Cincy because they had a GREAT draft. Smith should anchor that o-line for years, they got excellent value with their 2nd and 3rd round picks, and also picked up the TE from Mizzou and C from Arkansas, both should be starters.

You may very well be right. I never said he was a "stiff" His numbers at his ProDay were not off the charts either. He put himself and his teammates in a bad situation at the Sugar Bowl. His "running home" from the combine suggests he might be soft. This won't help when he plays Pittsburgh and Baltimore twice a year. He may be all you say, but he needs to get his shit together. I thought Oher was the guy under the radar.

I watched Ohio in one game I bet and I never heard his name called or remember him; I dont drink the kool aid

Huff, Washington, L Walker, Gallery, Grove, Huff, Harris, Buchanon, Gibson; and those are just the high draft choices that never became studs.

it is what it is.
