I watched Bey 5 times and he wasn't even their best WR and got shut out in 2 games in the weak ACC.
My 49er friends and burning my phones up with joy.
The worst pick since Todd Marinovich; I give up.

Al Davis, I've been defending him for this long but I can't any longer.
As of now, this is the worst draft for the Raiders of all the drafts I have ever seen in all these years
We better have a good season.

the Raiders have a tough schedule and neither player is going to do anything. The Raiders died today as far as I'm concerned. the future is very bleak.

Good call guys; If he had a love for Bey, trade down for players or picks; No one wanted Bey in the first 20 picks.
no wait; if they got more picks then they'd have to choose more players.....nevermind

Like it or not they go hand in hand. Al may mess things up but as a Raiders fn you should know to expect the unexpected. I aint callin no one out or nothing but come on now no one knows how any picks will turn out. Maybe dudes are just upset cuz they wanted someone else.

Yea I agree Maclin is very similar to Jackson, but Maclin/LeSean McCoy is far better than Beanie Wells/Whatever WR they would have got in the 2nd, IMO. LeSean McCoy is my favorite back in the draft, I think he'll turn out better than Beanie.

Never seen them play in So. Cal only at Stanford.

Even if DHB is good, I still don't trust our line to pass protect. We had a chance to fortify the defensive middle or the left side of the offense, we chose another fancy playmaker.
USC tailgates are the best in California. 100,000+ people, crazy shit going on from the campus to the parking lot, hottest women at a football game, and it helps that the team is actually good.

There are like 50,000 Latinos at every USC game. The Trojans are more like a pro team to Los Angeles so only half the crowd went to the school.
Just playin, Hill. I went to a few parties with a friend who went to USC i knew and swore I'd never go back. But I can see the football atmosphere being a bit different. The police presence must be absurd with that many people in one place..
Doyers y Esleigher
04-27-2009, 07:01 PM
It's Los Angeles, the Police Presence is always absurd, but they're really chill about the rules. You can drink pretty much anywhere from USC campus to King Blvd. on game day. They still allow live music and loud music, and don't go nazi on glass bottles, so it's actually more fan friendly than Oakland.
Sounds pretty cool actually. I may go down for the Cal game this year if I can get a couple tickets. Got a bunch of friends in that area. I bet its a joke trying to drive there last minute, huh.

I can't believe 49'er fans are so interested in busting our balls. They should clean up their own house. You wanna bust on DHB but they drafted J.J. Stokes. They ran Montanna out of town, Let T.O. go, and let us get productive years out of Lott and Rice. See if Garcia doesn't light that ass up in pre-season. They haven't sniffed a Super Bowl in atleast a decade. They wanna laugh at Al's love for speedy recievers, here's a name for them: Renaldo Neimiah, remember him?

Oakland is fan friendly. As long as your a blue-collar, hard working Raider die hard. It was never meant for people who have more than one team's gear in their closet.

I mean "fan friendly" in terms of what fans can do and have access to. The Coliseum has bathrooms everywhere, you can have DJ's and live music at the tailgates (can't do this in Oakland anymore), etc. I didn't even want to get into the convo comparing the tailgates but it kinda degenerated into that.
Obviously you've never been to an SC tailgate...
nope. I havent. Only a few USC parties. So I kindly retract my statement and actually look foward to checkin one out.

WTF did I just walk into?!?! I like Crabtree...but I really thought no matter who out of the top 5 we got would be straight...I didn't want crabtree after I saw how relieved he was that we didn't pick him..so you know what...screw you with a glass dildo if you don't want to play for us! I hope Mitchell decapitates that fool in pre-season....
Could we have got greater value for our picks? yes..but somehow when other teams reach it is "hey..when you see your guy and you can't trade back...you pick your guy"...so that's what we did. I was REALLY upset about mitchell..but now I see..that guy was meant to be a raider....

Damn right. Nut up or get out! DHB was a first rounder on most boards and he's ours now. The best thing we can do is get Bush and Run DMC going so we're not always in third and long's. Make the big play a luxury rather than necessity. Swing it out to Fargas and get everybody involved. Good OL play and Garcia's ability to make things happen will get us where we need to go.

That's right, if Russell doesn't start mastering the offense and working harder, Garcia will see playing time by week 5. He's a fighter, makes smart choices under pressure, and will get in people's ear if their doggin it. He will lead in the lockerroom and work hard on the practice field.

Gannon was truth. He came into camp and took the balls off the pool table. He told the guys when you start winning, you'll have time for this crap. He let them know that losing was not acceptable. Stupid penalties were killing them. Those great teams always had strong leadership. The last time we made a run the team was loaded with vets who were teachers on the field: Eric Allen, Romanowski, Brown, Rice, Woodson, Gannon, etc. Guys need to learn that their careers don't last forever and that it is a priviledge to wear those colors and play in front of fans that live and die for this shit!

I never said anything about the money. Careers are short and you've got to get your paper while you can. Just make sure you earn it. Don't come in overweight, unprepared and unwilling to put in the preparation that it take to be a Champion. I hope that Jam Rock can be the man, all I'm sayin' is that Garcia is a scrapper that knows his time is running out. He's had to play in Canada and be the second option in the NFL. He brings the leadership this team needs. He is from Gilroy and understands the tradition of the Raiders. The people in Philly will say he can get the job done. I'm all about #2, but he's gotta want it.

Completely understand what your saying. But in the past we've benefitted from veterans behind Center. I just hink Garcia will push him to be the player we want him to be more than Andrew or Marquis will. He needs to learn from someone who has been there. He should view him as a mentor. At Garcia's age there's no threat of a long term replacement.
