This is a Tribute piece to my Mother who passed in 2006..Her Maiden name..( Furlong) This name was traced back to the 12th century..A Furlong saved a King from a Wild Boar In the Forrest by slaying the creature..The King therefore knighted him on the spot and was given tracts of Land and generous other titles..The Furlong name is traced heavily around Dublin and surrounding areas..My Mother was a fiery Irish woman..very brash..Loved to drink LOL..A very generous woman as well..The word " LIBERALITAS" in the banner is latin..and its meaning is..Friendly..affable.. Generosity..I have been obsessed with getting a Celtic sleeve since 2006 when My mother passed..Iam half way there I have a cletic arm band..celtic cross in flames that has started off this sleeve..

My Mother was all about family, She was the tru Matriarch of the family and the cool thing about the matter is the fact that her GRANDSON ( MY Nephew) and My brother-in-Law had a part in this..They both Worked on Tattooing this on me..My Nephew drew this whole design up..My brother-inlaw tattooed the Shield, added the color, the swords along with the banner.. with the Furlong name. My Nephew who is 23 years old is an excellent artist who had previously labored and loved oil paintings and pencil drawings.. He had just picked up the tattoo gun trying to get his name out there..yesterday he added the Official Royal Eagle/ Griffin to this tribute piece..there are still several other pieces to My Celtic sleeve and many hours in the chair that has to be done..but regardless its a FAMILY THING..that I intend to pursue and be passionate about..Because in the end, all that matters ultimately to me is FAMILY..I Figured I would post this here because I have made several friends here at the ROC and thought maybe you could appreciate this piece.. Something very important to me..It shows my Irish Pride, where I come from, and its something that I will will take with me on my lifes journey ..Its where I will finally meet my maker. I will wear this SHIELD with as much Pride as I do the Raider Colors and the RAIDER SHIELD I have also chosen to represent..Much respect to all..Gator man Jeff

THX Jennster..can you understand my Insanity now LOL?..I have my Mothers Crazy Genes..The Irish Blood boils in my veins..I knew a fine Irish Lass much like yourself would dig this..thx for the Irish Pride babe..You rock Hun..Very proud of this piece..can't wait to add to it..still have a trinity knot on the other side of my forearm to do ..along with more plumage ( Oak clusters acorns and other Knotwork to put around this Eagle..ukltimately tie this whole sleeve together..Iam fully stoked about it..but I have to let this heal..hopefully in the coming months I can hook up again with my nephew and hammer the rest of this concept together.. The wife is irked at me lol she hates tattoos, but its what Im about..and she still accepts me for the immature Lunatic that Iam..thats love right there:laugh::laugh:..I'm like her 4th kid that she continuosley has to keep her eye on ..lol Ha!..My Oldest kid who is 17 is already contemplating her first TAT and everytime she does My wife and Mother-in-law just glare at me LOL..
