You wouldn't call Garcia a mentor for Russell, would you?

"Why not?" Cable said with a grin. "You know, why not?"

# Cable also didn't back away from his recent pointed comments about Russell needing to establish himself as a leader heading into Season 3.

"It's like you and your house — you're the head of the household," Cable said. "And he has to be, as the face of the organization. "... That's a huge responsibility, regardless of what your age is, where you've come from or this or that.

I like that. His ass needs to realize that he needs step up. I have confidence that he will do it this year though.

Cable needs to stop taking shots at his QB and coach the @!#$%^& team. What the f*** does Cable really know about being a HC? At this time last year he was Kiffins OL coach. Kiffin talked his way out of a job and Cable got handed the job, that's it it's not like he was so highly qualified. I have never heard any players say anything negative about Russell nor has Cable but he keeps saying Russell needs to step up. Step up to what? Get some more $#@!~ talent on the team! Get a franchise LT instead of rotating a bunch of stiffs there. Get some help for our sorry azz front seven on defense. Cable needs to learn how to be a HC first and then run his mouth. Cable needs to look at his record as a HC and he will see that he has not proved :shit: yet. He must think Al has his back, the only back Al has is his own.
