Did anyone catch last night's episode? Marshall Faulk and Co. were bashing the signing of Jeff Garcia. Sure, I wasn't thrilled about the way he left us hanging 2 years ago, but I can't deny the fact that he's a nice backup QB with tons of experience.

Anyway, Marshall was running his trap about how ridiculous this move was. Both for the Raiders and Jeff Garcia. Okay, let's see....our backup QB's were Andrew 'Turnover Machine' Walter, Marcus 'Shorty' Tuiasosopo and Bruce Gradkowski (spl?). Garcia is a serious upgrade over any of these guys, so that settles the Raiders agenda in signing Jeff. For Jeff, he's moving back home to NoCal, has a decent shot at getting some PT and he's still getting an NFL paycheck at the age of 39. What's not to like about this signing? Seriously.

Also, I heard Billy Ray Smith bash the move this morning as well. He said that we now have a 350lb qb and a 150lb qb. What a douche.

I'm a realist in the truest sense of the word and I'm loving this off-season. I have a good feeling about Tom Cable and this team's chances of making some great strides this year.

Yeah I caught that. He started off saying it made no sense, but then seemed to back peddle and say that he just didnt understand the reason for the hire. He said if he just wanted to move closer to home and be ok with the backup position, then OK, which is what the move is all about.

Al has f***ed over a lot of people over the years so what ever he does gets no love. This is one of the few things we have done that makes sense and all we get is hate. F*** the media.

Garcia brings the Raiders a solid backup, and most people would say teams need 2 solid QB's on roster.

Marshall & the pundits don't get it cuz they don't follow our squad. They view Russell as the starter (as he is) but then don't understand how we need to push the young guy. Can't understand why they can't see that.

It's a great signing to those in the Raiders atmosphere.
