Lakers tix are always pricey. These aren't too bad if the most expensive are $133

It'd be worth it for a regular season game but not preseason. I have some good memories of going to the Forum growing up so I'm looking forward to this, but anyone who has no emotional investment in the place isn't going to get anything out of watching Sun Yue play 25 minutes there.

Remember, this place is sparsely used for anything other than Sunday church service, it has not been that well-kept over the years. I went backstage when Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath) played there and the trainers rooms still have the decrepit old mats and fading LA Lakers logos on the mirrors.

exactly...i just cant see myself paying that much for a preseason game....i grew up going to the forum watching the likes of vlade and van excel and it would be real nice if they had an actual regular season game there...I would pay whatever to see that but just cant see myself paying 150 to 200 for preseason...too each his own i guess.

I drove by the Forum last week. Flew out of LAX and before I turned in my rental car I was determined to see it. Looked so tiny. Hard to believe that was the actual Forum where the Celtics and Lakers rumbled so many times in the '80s when I was growing up. I just couldn't grasp it. Surreal.

Seen quite a few Laker games in inglewood and that place was a real nice basketball venue. I actually like the forum better than staples for basketball games. Staples is a venue suited better for hockey.

The Forum doesn't have 3 levels of luxury boxes so any seat was a good one.

I've noticed when watching Laker games that the nose bleeders are way the hell up there. Almost looks like a football stadium. That Forum is a small arena. I couldn't even believe it was it when I was looking right at it. I agree with you guys, there couldn't have been a bad seat in the house.

It's a church now. They rent the space out for big tours sometimes and it's like the old Forum is open again. The Forum Club turns into a backstage party and bands get dressed up in the old Laker training room. Some bands have even been banned from there for being considered "Satanic" (which was bullshit. They banned Lamb of God to send a message, but they were on a Slipknot tour. They were replaced by Obituary who are much more Satanic. They won't ban Motley Crue for Shout At The Devil).

Obituary are not a Satanic band, but I get your point.

PS Took my son to the game down here on Friday night. Security was non-existant so we got to go down by the floor and watch the shoot-around up close. Got a wave from Stu, too, which was cool.

Go Lakeshow...

Sweet.. Got your pic Jeff.. Sounds like a good time, other than the game.. Watched it on ESPN at the local bar up here.. Preseason though, so no biggie.. Looking forward to tomorrow night's opener vs the Clips.. With the Dodgers done and the Raider pigfuck a continuing nightmare, I am SO fucking ready for some Laker hoops..

BTW, concerning the Forum (and getting slightly back on topic :D ), when I saw Metallica there on back to back nights in 2004, they still had all the Laker title banners up on the wall.. Not sure if they still do, but I thought it was pretty damn cool at the time..
